Weekly Nail Polish: 3/22-3/29
This is my last week testing out Ciate' polishes...It's been fun but oh so long (about two months)...I really miss using other brands...
Anyway, I'm wearing Spending Spree, which is a metallic gold/lavender, depending on the way the light hits. After two coats, it's still lighter than in the bottle but I feel like it's really nice for Spring and actually reminds me a little of sand.
As always, thank you for checking in and stay tuned for a review of my Ciate' collection.

Fun Fact Friday: Volume 2 (The Monday Edition)
Note: This was supposed to be posted on Friday, however, I did not feel well and got lazy....
Inspired by my cousin's last high school performance, not to mention the anniversary of my own final show, I decided to go with a theater theme for this post.
1. The first show I was in was The Wiz where I played the Terrified Messenger. The only reason I was given that part was due to the fact that during auditions, I truly was terrified...this included an incredibly shaky voice and nervous laugh. It was also the role that helped me to break out of my shell. In fact, there was a part that required me to scream and it was so loud that they actually had to shut off my microphone.
2. Out of all the shows I was in, the two I hated the most were LOL, a mix of about five or six different skits, and a hippie version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Words can't describe the sheer stupidity...
3. My biggest achievement was in our middle school production of Bye Bye Birdie-I had not auditioned but had been given a one-line role and within a short amount of time had been bumped up to a much larger part. That was probably the moment when I really caught the acting bug.
4. I still have a box filled with all my play mementos, which includes assorted scenery, books, and costumes. While I have not looked at any of it in years, it's still something that I doubt I'll ever be able to get rid of.
5. My favorite performance, hands down, was my last, Into The Woods. To this day I look back and can't help but smile at all the wonderful memories. That experience was like no other and I am still very thankful to have been a part of that production.
So there you have it...the late second instalment and a little insight on my theater experience...
As always, thank you for your support and have a great week!

Fun Fact Friday:Volume 1
This is a new series that I thought would be a fun way to introduce myself as more than just a makeup addict. Each Friday, I want to post five random (mostly non-beauty related) facts about myself.
Here we go....
1. I have been writing in a diary since 2006. It mostly involves the day's events, however, there are a couple books in the stack that are solely me venting about any issues I may have had at the time. All together I think I now have at least 15 mini spiral notebooks, which many I enjoy going back in time every once in a while.
2. The shortest job I had was when I worked at a call center for five days. At the time I was so desperate to leave my job, I didn't realize what this one involved...especially the part the part that required me to study medical terms at home. After I quit, I stayed home with my son for a couple months and then went back to work with some of my former (but much loved) coworkers.
3. My nickname is Barbie, which was given by my former boss (and good friend) because of my long, blond hair. Even after I left, to this day my coworkers (and some family members) continue to use this name.
4. I am currently loving the Thai salad from Panera. In fact, we've made a trip for lunch almost every weekend for the past three weeks. It's just so yummy!
5. I currently have a love-hate relationship with my cell phone. I spend five days a week talking almost nonstop so when I'm home my cell normally stays off. It's actually become abnormal for me to have it on during the weekends.
So there you go...my first 5 facts.
Stay tuned for next week.
As always, your support is greatly appreciated! Have a great weekend :)

Bag of The Month: March
This month I'm carrying my new Dooney and Bourke Leather Pocket Satchel.
Fun fact: This had been ordered months ago when it was offered on easy pay, however, I ended up cancelling last minute. That's the thing about making monthly payments for high end items-(at least for me) it seems convenient at first but it's also easy to forget about, which can cause problems. As luck would have it, I happened to come across the same bag but for a more affordable price making this the 11th(?) Dooney in my collection.
As always, thank you for supporting my blog :)

Weekly Nail Polish: 3/10-3/15
Anyway.. What picks up a mood better than sparkly glitter? This is why I used Heirloom from Ciate', which is a shade that really plays with the light. For the most part this comes off as a copper tone, otherwise it looks anywhere from pink to gold. It actually looked much darker in the bottle but it's actually a nice and bright.
I hope you're having a great week and enjoying the warmer weather :)

Jason and The Drugstore-Maybelline Superstay 14Hr Lipstick
Last night as I wrote out the shopping list for Jason, I decided to have a little fun and also asked him to pick out a lipstick. Having just watched several "My Boyfriend/Husband Does My Makeup" videos, I was inspired and pretty curious to see what he'd bring home. Truth be told, I expected either black or a shiny silver shade, thankfully that was not the case.
He was actually a really good sport and it looked like he took this experiment quite seriously.
Out of everything he had to choose from, he came home with the Maybelline Super Stay 14Hr Lipstick in Ultimate Blush.
I'm still beyond impressed with his choice because the shade alone is absolutely perfect and one that I would probably reach for quite often.
To me this just screams Spring...it's a perfect light pink tone with a little bit of shimmer.
The staying power is actually pretty impressive as well.
I applied this before I left for work and at first wasn't thrilled with the sticky feeling it left, however, that went away within minutes. Having spent a nine-hour day without touch-ups, the lipstick is still on my lips. Although, I would like to note that the color has been turned down a bit.

Overall, I really liked this, which says a lot considering I'm not a huge fan of Maybelline products. I could certainly see this being used especially on occasions when I don't want to worry about whether or not my lipstick is still looking intact. If anything, my main complaint would be the fact that it has made my lips feel dry so I probably would not use this on a daily basis.
While I can't speak for Jason, I had a fun time with this and am considering turning this little game into a possible series...we shall see......
As always, I thank you for visiting my blog...
I'd also like to give Jason a special shout-out for being so supportive and willing to play along :)

Nails Inc. Must Haves
![]() |

Nails Inc. had originally started as a U.K. based nail-bar chain and has since expanded throughout the world. A couple of years ago Sephora began to carry a select few of their polishes and somewhere along the way, QVC jumped on the bandwagon as well.
I ordered this one Friday night after watching a presentation and within minutes it completely sold out. This collection offers four of their most popular neutral shades.
Included are:
*Porchester Square=grey shade
*Elizabeth Street=nude pink shade
*Jermyn Street=taupe shade
*Cadogan Square=camel shade
Note: There is no shimmer.
The wide brush and thick polish make for an easy and even application. I found that you really don't need more than one coat thanks to the impressive pigmentation. The colors are quite wearable and quick drying. My manicures lasted at least a week without any kind of chipping.
I normally don't like to spend a lot on nail polish but I've been enjoying this set. Overall, I'd like to give some of their more colorful shades a try.
If interested, this set is (I believe) exclusive to QVC.
Nails Inc. also offers a wide variety of colors and effects which can be found at nailsinc.com or Sephora.
As always, I greatly appreciate you support that allows me me to talk non-stop about makeup ;)
