NOTD: Glitter Tips!!!

I decided to wear Luminary by Sinful Colors again but this week I added an extra coat to make it a little darker. Instead of pairing it with Sweet Dreams, I painted my nails on my ring fingers with 2% Milk by Wet n Wild and added glittery tips using W&W's Gold & The Beautiful and Sparked.

What I love about this look is that it doesn't have to be perfect, great for someone like me who can't do a french manicure to save her life.

It's fun, girly, yet nice for dressy occasions. In fact, I think I'm going to do something similar in a few weeks for my sister's baby shower.

Mission-No Buy

Every year I look forward to my two trips down the shore...what's not fun are the months prior where I go insane trying to save money in order to be able to take these vacations (often ends up with fighting and tears...not pretty)

Last year it didn't go too well and as a result we couldn't really do much and ate every meal in the motel, which, isn't something I mind but I do like to have the option of enjoying some boardwalk food and games as well.

So this time around I'm hoping to do something different-a no buy. I am going to try my best not to buy anything that isn't necessary. Upon discussing this with my fiance', we also decided to cut out going out as well.

If I can accomplish this we'll be a little more comfortable in spending, not by much, but a lot more than last year.

Wish me luck!!!

(NBR) Currently Reading: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

As the weather gets nicer, I find myself reading more and more so I thought that I'd  post about something else that I enjoy, books. Please note, from now on whenever I post something non-beauty related I'm going to include NBR in the title.
At the moment I'm reading Steig Larsson's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Normally, I prefer to read the book before watching the movie but in this case it's the other way around. I wasn't originally interested in this series but after watching the movie I became intrigued. I'm not going to share any details because I'm playing around with also posting a review after I'm finished reading. I will say this, though, if the book is as good as the move than I know I'll be in for a treat!

Today's Eye Look

I decided to go for a natural look so I went with a quad from Bonne Bell, Cafe Classics. In my opinion, there's more shimmer than pigmentation but it was cheap...plus, it's the same one (newer, of course) that I wore for my prom. The nice part about this is how it makes my eyes look open and awake.

Here's how I came up with my look:
*Peach shade all over my lids and brow bone
*Taupe shade pat on my outer lids
*Deep Plum shade smoked out in my crease and also used on top of my liner
*Silver shade in the inner corners

Then, I used Laura Geller's Plum Paradise liner on my outer lid (on top) along with my Smashbox's Onyx liner all over my waterline. I only line the outer part of my lid because I've found it creates a nice shape for my eyes and makes them look more open.

Of course, as a finishing touch I used Tarte's Lights, Camera, Splashes mascara.

NOTD: Summery Peach & Blue

This is my first time trying out Sinful Colors and when I saw them at my local Walgreens, I immediately zoned in on Luminary and Sweet Dreams...they just looked so good together!

Both polishes are on the sheer side but, in my opinion, only needs two coats. Luminary is a very pretty shimmery peach while Sweet Dreams is a shimmery robyn's egg blue. I love how perfect they are for the warmer weather and have received quite a number of compliments on them.

FYI, they look cute on toes too ;)

May BOTM: Dooney & Bourke

Happy May!!! One Month Closer to Summer!!!!!!!!

This month I'm using a new bag that I picked up earlier in the year which is a medium pocket sack in pale yellow. It was actually a really good deal (75% off!)  simply because the back has a little tear which actually isn't noticeable.

I love the size and the fact that it's so bright and cheerful! It puts me in a sunny mood :)
