Goin' Vintage In The Office

Please note: this picture in no way does my outfit justice.

I rarely buy clothes for myself. In fact, most of the items in my closet are at least five years old. Over the years I've realized that I like to play around a lot with pieces that can double as something else. For example, I'll wear a dress that would normally be considered as inappropriate and pair it with a sweater or jacket to make it look like a top or skirt.

That is exactly what I did for this outfit.

I started with a strapless dress I bought years ago back in middle school ($12 at Charlotte Russe) and added a black button down shirt and boots. I love being able to mix in old pieces like this because it keeps my wardrobe from getting boring plus, I get to wear items I normally wouldn't be able to in the workplace.

OOTD: Edgy Chic

(sorry for the dark picture)

Yesterday was too beautiful to leave the house in pants, not to mention I'd been missing my warm weather clothes, so I took out an old favorite from my closet.

My blue, knee length skirt was actually purchased back when I was in high school and in my opinion has never gone out of style. (My sister has even worn it on a few occasions). I paired it with a navy colored cami from Old Navy, a white sweater from Kohls, and my black boots.

What I love about this outfit is how it gives off a girly yet edgy feel...not to mention while it is considered acceptable in my office, it's not the standard "apparel"...it's always important for me to be able to go to work as myself and not an administrative drone in a black suit.

OOTD

(Sorry for the blurry picture)

This has got to be my go-to outfit when I need a boost of confidence. I reach for it on my "unattractive mommy" days, along with moments when I feel absolutely amazing. To be blunt, it makes me feel super sexy.

~Individual Pieces~
*Purple sundress from Old Navy purchased about 2 1/2 years ago
*Black sweater that was given to me by my sister
*Black calf-length boots that were also from my sister

Because the sweater has a pretty draping in the front I wear a simple necklace and either pair it with zebra print hoops (for a funky touch) or some classic looking studs.

Have a happy Friday everyone!!!!
:)
