Check In Time: Perfume No-Buy: Falling In Love Summer
I want to start this post with a confession...I broke both my shower gel and perfume no buys with Philosophy's latest Scents of Summer TSV. Please don't judge me...
That being said, since I just finished my bottle of Falling In Love I took out my new Falling In Love Summer spray. I have a feeling that this just might last throughout the summer since it is a 4oz.
This is basically a mix of Summer Grace and Falling In Love with sweet berries, coconut, a light floral and dries smelling very fresh. I've noticed that unlike a lot of Philosophy's other fragrances, this seems to last longer.
As always, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog :)

Philosophy TSV on 4/6
![]() |
Summer Grace Photo Courtesy of QVC.com |
Starting at midnight on Saturday April 6th, is the Scents of Summer Philosophy TSV on QVC.
I haven't exactly been pulled by the last two or three collections, however, I'm seriously considering ordering this one. It's reminiscent of the past December sets they bring out in the fact that it's focused on bath and body as well as fragrance, as opposed to skin care.
Included are:
*4oz spray fragrance
*5.8oz satin finish body oil mist
*7oz body polishing scrub
*16oz 3in1
Note: You have a choice between Summer Grace or Falling In Love Summer. There's also a single shipment or auto-delivery, which would offer a second shipment in about 90 days.

Philosophy isn't the best when describing their scents but I'll try:
Summer Grace=reminds me of the beach with it's light coconut notes
Falling In Love Summer=a mix of Summer Grace with the sweetness of berries mixed in
While this is priced at $79.76 (not sure if easy pay will be available), it actually comes to $96.50 with the addition of tax, shipping, and handling. While I haven't done the math for each separate piece, it looks like a good value, especially considering the spray and 3in1 together would cost about $70-$80.
According to the email I received, the show times are scheduled for 12-2AM, 3-4AM, 2-4PM, 6-8PM, and 10-Midnight.
If you're interested, check out one of their shows throughout the day or click here for the one-time shipment or here for the auto-delivery.
Considering the fact that I missed out on Falling In Love Summer last year, I might have to hint around that this would make a great Mother's Day gift ;)
As always, I thank you for visiting my blog :)

What's In My Shower: Spring Edition
I don't know about you but I was thrilled to switch out my shower gels for the spring season. Don't get me wrong, I love winter and the holiday season, however, I'm always more than happy to welcome back the warmer weather.
So far, I've found myself pulled more towards fresh scents, with a touch of warmth to them and have been using the following...
~Sweet Scents~
*Bath and Body Works Be Enchanted
*Philosophy Falling In Love
Both of these make me think of berries mixed with light florals...so nice and not overpowering!
~Fruity Scents~
*Bath and Body Works Orange Ginger
*Philosophy I'm Dreaming of...White Cranberry
*Philosophy Bubbly
*Philosophy I'm Dreaming of...White Peach
*Philosophy Fruity Berry Funnel Cake
For the most part, these have a light fruit scent, with the exception of Fruity Berry Funnel Cake, which has a bit of a buttery element to it.
~Food Scents~
*Philosophy Full of Fortune Cookie
*Philosophy Pink Frosted Cut-Out
*Philosophy Fresh Cream
Even for "food" scents, these are all very light and could probably be used through the summer as well.
~Warmer Scents~
*Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods
*Bath and Body Works Pearberry
*Bath and Body Works Country Chic
These scents have a slight musk to them, which is perfect for those "spring, but not really" kind of days.
I feel like I actually have a little less of a selection than in the cooler months but these are a perfect mix for a season that can tend to be slightly confused (for lack of a better word).
As always, thank you for your support :)
Note: Orange Ginger, Pink Frosted Cut-Out, Twilight Woods, Pearberry and Country Chic were given to me as gifts. Bubbly was given as a free gift with purchase. All of the other products were purchased by myself. The opinions expressed in this post are those of my own. I have never accepted any kind of compensation in exchange for a positive review. Found: Philosophy Just Release Me Dupe
About a year or so ago I discovered Just Release Me by Philosophy and instantly fell in love. It takes off everything in pretty much one swipe, is oil-free so it never breaks me out, and as an added perk, calms my skin after I pluck my eyebrows. The only con to this is that it costs $18 which wouldn't be so bad but it does add up considering I go through this rather quick.
In my search, I've come across some brands so bad that I just threw out the entire bottle (you can read more about that here) and others that were tolerable, like the L'oreal eye-makeup remover. I finally found the one which is almost identical to JRM, Neutrogena's Oil Free Eye-Makeup Remover.
After looking up some reviews, I decided to give this a shot and was shocked when I realized that not only does this have the same benefits as Philosophy but the ingredients are pretty identical as well...and for only a fraction of the cost!
It's a relief to know that not only is this cheaper but it's sold everywhere as well.
I can already tell this is my new H.G. product and definitely recommend this to anyone who has not tried it before.
As always, you're support is much appreciated.
Note: I purchased these products with my own money. The opinions expressed in this post are those of my own. I have never accepted any kind of compensation in exchage for a review. For more information, please check out my Disclaimer.

Check In Time: Perfume No-Buy: FIL
Another one bites the dust...(That song always seems to creep into my head whenever I finish a bottle of perfume...)
Anyway...
Since I finished up my Too-Too rollerball, today I started using Philosophy's Falling In Love, which is quite fitting for the beginning of February.
It's such a pretty and slightly sweet scent that reminds me of a mixture of cotton candy and berries...absolutely love it!
Note: You can read about my no-buy here.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and have a great weekend :)

What's In My Shower: Winter Edition
With the winter feeling the coldest it's ever been in NJ (...hello 9 degree evenings...except for the past few days, of course...), I have mostly gravitated towards comforting and sweeter scents in the shower. After all, if I have to be in my freezing bathroom I want to be using something that will make me feel nice and cozy.
Unlike with my Fall Edition, I decided to group the shower gels, lotions, and scrubs that I've been using this season into categories, as opposed to brand...so here we go...
Please Note: I am well aware of my shower gel addiction and have taken the proper steps to overcome (you can read more about that Here)...please don't judge me.
*Philosophy's Have A Cherry Christmas=white cherries
*Philosophy's Partridge In A Pear Tree=white pear
*Philosophy's I'm Dreaming of...White Peach=white peach
*Philosophy's I'm Dreaming of...White Cranberry=white cranberry
(note: You can also read more about my review of the I'm Dreaming of...set Here)
~Minty Scents~
*Philosophy's Candy Cane=total mint experience and a staple in my shower; perfect to use when you''re sick or need a pick-me-up
*Philosophy's Peppermint Bark=mint chocolate
*Bath and Body Works' Twisted Peppermint=candy canes and vanilla
~Comfort Scents~
*Philosophy's Fresh Cream=homemade whipped cream
*Bath and Body Works' Vanilla Bean Noel=warm vanilla and caramel
~Foody Scents~
*Philosophy's Gingerbread Girl=fresh baked gingerbread
*Philosophy's Gingerbread Man=sparkling gingerale
*Philosophy's Christmas Cookies=buttery sugar cookie
*Philosophy's Cherry Berry Crisp==a mix of cherries, berries, coconut & vanilla
*Philosophy's Candy Cane=smells exactly like the 3in1; gives off a cooling sensation
*Philosophy's Gingerbread Man=smells exactly like the 3in1; gives off a warming sensation
I apologize but given the fact that most of these are sold for a limited time, unless you search amazon, I don't think these products are available. As far as I'm aware, though, I believe these are all returning customer favorites.
Note: I purchased these products with my own money. The opinions expressed in this post are those of my own. I have never accepted any kind of compensation in exchange for a positive review. For more information, please check out my Disclaimer.

My Last Purchase of 2012...and A No Buy
I don't know about you but we didn't exactly have a "Rockin' New Year's Eve" considering everyone in my house was sick. Just before I went to bed that night I happened to flip through the channels when I caught a Philosophy presentation on QVC. Without hesitation, I ordered it, which was actually pretty fitting.....
My very last purchase for 2012 was a Fresh Cream duo consisting of a 16oz 3in1 and 7oz body cream (as of right now, it's listed as "unavailable"). Both products smell exactly like fresh whipped cream. In fact, it's actually possible to pull out different ingredients like the vanilla and sugar...it smells really clean, perfect for a Pure Grace lover, while offering a warm and cozy scent. Since it's very light, I feel like these could remain in my bathroom all year long as opposed to being reserved for the cooler months.
I also made the decision to put myself on a shower gel no buy. Right now my bathroom is full along with about three containers of Spring, Summer, and Fall scents in my bedroom. There's so much that I was way too embarrassed to post a picture of my collection.
For now, at least until I can get more of a handle on my little "problem", I'm not going to allow myself to buy anymore shower gels...there's just no more room for all of it!!!
As of right now it doesn't look like any of my bottles are close to being emptied, although, there are several that are at the half-way mark. Much like with my perfume no buy, I want to post empty bottle reports on this as well.
Stay tuned and thanks again for visiting :)

Favorites of 2012
For the most part, putting together my list of H.G. items was pretty simple, especially since I like to keep a bag of back-ups under my makeup table. The following are all the products that I've used throughout the year and have repurchased.
~Hair~
*Wen*
Even though I've been using this product for a couple years, back in the Spring, I started using it more as a conditioner than cleanser. With regular shampoo, it makes my hair look shiny and feeling healthy. I did attempt to try out different products but nothing else could compare. For the winter months, I'll be using Fig, which is more moisturising than the other "flavors".
*TRESemme' Thermal Recovery Shampoo*
After spending over a year of only using a cleansing conditioner on my hair, the search for a great shampoo proved to be a tad difficult. Luckily, on my second attempt, I found my now go-to product. Just like Wen, I absolutely love the way my hair looks and feels...plus, there's the added bonus of heat protection.
*TRESemme' Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray*
I didn't notice this until it was mentioned in an Emilynoel83 video and have been using this ever since. Not only is it affordable, but the hold is great without leaving any sticky residue.
~Face~
*bareMinerals Foundation in Golden Fair*
I started using this in the beginning of January, when I was suffering from horrible breakouts and acne scars. Over the past 12 months, it has not only covered up any imperfections but my face has also cleared up wonderfully. This is a product that I simply can't imagine being without and has been the absolute best foundation I've ever tried.
*bareMinerals Bisque*
Adding this to the mix has given me even more coverage and truly erases everything from dark circles to the occasional breakout.
*bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil*
This offers such a great airbrushed look and really evens everything out. Before I initially tried this I really didn't understand the purpose for a "finishing powder", however, this have been a product that I never leave the house without.
*bareMinerals Prime Time*
When I use this, my make-up stays on all day and rarely needs to be touched up...plus, it hasn't caused any break outs.
~Eyes~
*Tarte Lights Camera Splashes Mascara*
I've been using this for over two years and have continued to repurchase. I love everything about it from the way my lashes feel and look to how bulletproof it is. I don't doubt that this will be on my H.G. list for quite some time.
*Smashbox Limitless Liner in Onyx*
This is another product that I have been using for over two years. Over the past twelve months I've been having a lot of fun using a colored liner on the top on my lids and Onyx in the waterline. It's quite rare when I need to reapply in the middle of the day.
~Skincare~
*Philosophy Hands of Hope*
Last year when I bought my first tube, I didn't think I'd repurchase...ironically, I've had HOH in my bag ever since. It's so moisturising, especially perfect for the cooler months, and has no scent so I don't have to worry about it competing with my perfume. I'm yet to find a cheaper dupe for this.
*Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Neck Cream*
I absolutely love this product! After the first month of use, I could see such a difference in the tightness of my neck and decollete area...the smooth feeling is a bonus as well.
*bareMinerals Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser*
Last January after using BEs makeup for a few weeks I decided to venture toward their skincare and haven't looked back since. I use the exfoliating cleanser first thing in the morning and as a mask once a week. I also really like the fresh scent it has.
*bareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser*
I use this every other night and it's such a gentle cleanser that takes the day off.
*bareMinerals Deep Cleansing Foam*
I use this on nights when I don't reach for the Purifying Cleaner and it applies almost like a mask.
I've been using all three cleansers for a year and not only has my skin cleared up immensely but it also looks a lot brighter. I don't think I'd want to use anything else.
*bareMinerals Skin Rev-Er Upper*
I use this morning & night and it's really helped to clear my skin without drying it out.
*bareMinerals Active Cell Renewal Night Serum*
This is such a light serum that goes right into the skin. My face has looked amazing since I've been using this product and I fully believe that this is what helped to erase all my acne scars...that and the Skin Rev-Er Upper.
*bareMinerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer*
This moisturizes my face without causing any breakouts, which is what I think was initially my problem, using the wrong face cream.
~Shower~
*Philosophy Candy Cane*
This 3in1 is part of the holiday collection, however, I keep it in my bathroom all year long. I'm not 100% sure but this has to contain Menthol because it really opens up your nasal passages and gives off a nice cooling sensation. I love using this when I'm sick or on hot summer nights....I use this on my son as well.
~Lips~
*EOS Lip Balm*
These are great to use prior to applying lipsticks or glosses. They're not greasy, smell really good, and leave my lips nice and soft. I take these wherever I go.
*Laura Geller Italian Marble Lipstick*
As of right now I have seven shades from this line and love all of them. The colors range from sheer to a bold pink and feel just like a lip balm.
*bareMinerals Moxie Lip Gloss*
After I tried a couple out, I soon became addicted and loaded up on more...and more. They're long lasting with shades ranging from clear to a deep berry. What I love it the candy scent they have and the minty feeling I get when I wear them.
So there you have it-my list of 2012 Go-To/Holy Grail/Repurchased items. I apologize for the long length of this post...thanks for sticking with me :)

Philosophy TSV and A No Buy
Who ordered the Philosophy TSV this past weekend?
I did not. I love their 3in1s but can't use anything else because they make me breakout.
I was very proud of myself for not ordering anything this past weekend.
I get the feeling that I'm going to be putting myself on a shower gel no buy in the near future...my collection is taking over. The bathroom is filled, not to mention that I have three baskets full of the non-seasonal scents under my bed.
Yeah, I think I need to use some of these guys up before I buy some new ones....

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year...for Sephora VIBs
I've been meaning to post this for a while...
This year's VIB opening party was pretty dead, although, I don't doubt that Sandy and the snowstorm that followed played a role in it. It's a shame, too, because it seemed like my Sephora tried really hard to host a great event. Unlike last year they had a table full of food, a DJ, and all different services throughout the store.
Personally, I only went to redeem my 20% off, especially being with my son who wasn't too thrilled to be there (thank god for Jason, who was kind enough to walk him around while I shopped).
I walked out with...
-Philosophy's Gingerbread Man Hot Salt Scrub
-Philosophy's Snow Angel Hand Cream
-bare Mineral's shadow duo in The Phenomenon
-Tatre's Lights Camera Splashes mascara (HG item!!!)
-Sephora VIB tote
Certainly a much smaller list that last year, which, I'm actually proud of :)
I thank you for reading this (late) post :)
Feel free to share-what was it like in your store and what did you use your 20% (or even $15 and $20 cards) to buy?

Macy's Philosophy Mini-Haul
Upon making room for this season's shower products, I decided to pick up a new shower gel from Philosophy. Ulta was out of everything and all Sephora had were testers (according to sales associate, the products were not available yet.I was about to completely lose hope when on a whim I walked up to the Impulse Beauty section in Macy's and was greeted by a very friendly sales associate. When asked about their stock of seasonal products, he replied with "hold on" and came back ten minutes later carrying a big bag of the entire Philosophy holiday line...not even on the shelves yet. I couldn't help but jump with joy. It was like Christmas had come early.
While a little voice inside told me to buy it all, I resisted temptation and only bought a couple products...ok, I almost resisted-as he was about to finish ringing me up I quickly added one last item. In my defence I love it!!!!!! Just before I left he also tossed in a small bottle of their newest fragrance, Living Grace.
I walked out thrilled to have had such an amazing experience and have never met a manager like that who was genuinely friendly and helpful. In a crowded store, he treated me like the only customer in the place. We even talked for a while after I was initially rung up. That's definitely the kind of service that will keep me coming back.
I came home with:
So far I've used the Pumpkin Pie 3in1 and it smells oh so good (exactly like pie!) along with the body scrub which feels quite invigorating.I keep that scent in the bathroom all year long because it's perfect to use when I feel under the weather.
I'm holding off on using the Cherry Christmas gel until it gets closer to the holidays but it smells like a mix of cherries and snow (I don't know how!). I'm also waiting to use the Living Grace perfume but I like it a lot...it's light like Pure Grace.
I'm not sure when everything will be available but you can probably find these items at the following:
~Macy's Beauty Impulse
~macys.com
~philosophy.com
~qvc.com
~Sephora
~sephora.com
~Ulta
~ulta.com
I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to the rest of the holiday fragrances to come out!
As always, thank you for supporting my blog and me :)

I'm Dreaming Of...
As mentioned in an earlier post, I ordered Philosophy's I'm Dreaming Of set during their TSV day and had actually looked into this the day prior but it wasn't until I heard "We now only have about 200 sets left" when I finally made my move. Shortly after, it had completely sold out...not much of a surprise as it was a really great deal, only $20 with free shipping and handling. Just like last year, it only lasted one presentation.
The set includes:
-8oz White Cranberry 3in1
-8oz White Peach 3in1
Seeing as I absolutely love the Fresh Peaches and Cream scent, I didn't doubt that I would enjoy this as well. Both smell like light perfumes with "clean" notes, perfect for Pure Grace lovers. The White Peach has more of a sweet scent while the White Cranberry has more of a tartness to it. At first I wasn't sure how well these would be for the fall and winter seasons, but in actuality, they're quite fitting.
Right now it's listed as "Waitlist Only" but if you're interested and want to check it out, you can find it HERE.
Thank you for reading my blog and have a great week :)
Note: I purchased these products with my own money. The opinions expressed in this post are those of my own. I have never accepted any kind of compensation in exchage for a review. For mor information, please check out my Disclaimer.
