No Buy-Perfume Addiction...Erm...I Mean Edition

I've come to the realization that I own a lot (and I do mean a lot) of perfume. In the past couple of years my collection has gone from nonexistent to practically overflowing. My goal is to not buy any new scents until I've used up my entire collection. The only exceptions to this will be anything that's free (i.e. samples, gifts, etc.).

So far I have successfully used up Philosophy's Summer Grace and Amazing Grace, both of which I absolutely love but at the same time have felt a sense of accomplishment upon finishing them up.

I figured I'd post an update every time I open a new bottle and am pretty confident that I can stay strong or at least show more self restraint than when it came to my make-up no buy.
Right now, I've gone back to my Betsey Johnson Too Too rollerball.

Wish me luck and stay tuned!

As always, thank you for supporting my blog :)

Most Favorite Band EVER!!!

One of my favorite memories was when I was 17 and came home to find a letter with no name or return address that said, "This world you can change it, if you want to arrange it. Pass a favor on if you get the chance." and two tickets to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. All I could do at that moment was cry...I don't mean a tear here and there. I'm talking about hysterically crying.

TSO has been my favorite band ever since I was in middle school when I'd steal my sister's Christmas Eve and Other Stories cd. What started out as an appreciation for the music turned into something much more the older I got. The lyrics really touched my heart and offered support and hope. It's been years since I was a teenager locked up in my room but even now the music continues to lift me up.

The only way I could ever describe that first concert is to call it magical. I had wanted nothing more than to see them live and was granted such an incredible gift thanks to an anonymous stranger with a very big heart. I never found out who it was but think about that person quite often. I still have the letter, in fact, I consider it to be one of my most prized possessions. After all, these moments belong in a Hallmark movie, not in real life.
To that mystery person, whoever he or she may be, I can never truly be able to express my gratitude.

I'm thrilled to report that I'll be seeing TSO in concert this year and this time taking Jason, my fiance. I admit, when the tickets came in I started to cry. This band brings back so many memories and has brought light into the darkness.

So looking forward to 12/22!!!

Treat Yourself To Gorgeous

I'm certainly not the first person to report this but today Tarte is having a TSV on QVC...I ordered mine, have you?

It's such an amazing value!
For 49.98 (on easy pay!) you get four maracuja divine shine lip glosses, four cashmere waterproof eyeliners, and 20 amazonian clay eye shadows. Did I mention everything is full sized?

The products are separated into three different boxes so they can be broken down as different gifts or can be one giant present because each package is magnetized.

Initially I wasn't going to order because the shadow quality wasn't exactly up to par, however, I'm interested to try the "newer" formulation (I've had a set in the past but don't remember it being made with Amazonian clay).

Can't wait to play around with this set!!!!

If you're interested, you can find more on this set HERE or feel free to check out the presentations on QVC throughout the day.

Maureen Kelly will be presenting throughout the day but will have hour long Tarte shows from 10-11am and 8 to 9pm.

Have a great Wednesday everyone and if you like this set I suggest you make a move on it quick because I just heard there have already been over 28,000 ordered!!!  :)

bare Minerals Moxie Holiday Sets

Desperately needing to get out of the house, my mom and I headed off to out local bare Minerals store, where I picked up the Hot to Trot Moxie holiday set. Immediately after trying all six of the different glosses, I realized I had to try the Cool as Ice set as well.

This product makes my lips look amazing, not to mention they do have pretty good staying power (the candy scent is an added bonus). The difference I've noticed between the two is basically "safe" and "out of the box".

~Hot To Trot~
This would be more for the neutral kind of girl.

*Maverick=Rosewood Shimmer
*Crowd Surfer=Cotton Candy Pink

*Smooth Talker=Golden Pink

*Firecracker=Candied Apple

*Smarty Pants=Shell

*Dreamer=Golden Sand

~Cool As Ice~
This is for someone who really likes to make their lips pop.

*Hot Ticket=Electric Pink

*Daredevil=Blackberry

*Fashionably Late=Opal

*Socialite=Pink

*Gutsy=Fuchsia Berry

*Rebel=Pink Mauve

Please Note: Each gloss has shimmer to it...not over the top, but it does add a little extra sparkle.

As predicted, these sets did not disappoint. I highly suggest checking them out, especially if you're new to the brand.

You can read my previous post on an initial review of the glosses and can check out more information anywhere that carries bare Minerals, along with their website.

Also:
1. It's been a while since I initially took these pictures and it wasn't until actually posting them that I realized how horribly exhausted I looked.
2. What was going on with my hair!?!?

As always, thank you for your support...and putting up with some bad photos :)

Note: I purchased these products with my own money. The opinions expressed in this post are those of my own. I have never accepted any kind of compensation in exchage for a good review. For more information, please check out my Disclaimer.

This Week's Nail Polish: 11/16-11/23

I'm not exactly a nail polish pro but I do like to play around so this week I decided to be festive with Thanksgiving/Fall inspired colors. For this look I used Sunny Side Up by Wet n Wild (light orange shade) and Cadogan Square by Nails Inc. (camel shade).

Initially, I tried adding a little glitter to the tips but I really like the simplicity of the alternating colors, not to mention this is such a fun look that brings me back to middle school.

Ahhh...to be young again...

Anyway, have a wonderful Tuesday, or Thursday depending on how you look at it ;)
As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

Macy's Philosophy Mini-Haul

Upon making room for this season's shower products, I decided to pick up a new shower gel from Philosophy. Ulta was out of everything and all Sephora had were testers (according to sales associate, the products were not available yet.
I was about to completely lose hope when on a whim I walked up to the Impulse Beauty section in Macy's and was greeted by a very friendly sales associate. When asked about their stock of seasonal products, he replied with "hold on" and came back ten minutes later carrying a big bag of the entire Philosophy holiday line...not even on the shelves yet. I couldn't help but jump with joy. It was like Christmas had come early.

While a little voice inside told me to buy it all, I resisted temptation and only bought a couple products...ok, I almost resisted-as he was about to finish ringing me up I quickly added one last item. In my defence I love it!!!!!! Just before I left he also tossed in a small bottle of their newest fragrance, Living Grace.

I walked out thrilled to have had such an amazing experience and have never met a manager like that who was genuinely friendly and helpful. In a crowded store, he treated me like the only customer in the place. We even talked for a while after I was initially rung up. That's definitely the kind of service that will keep me coming back.

I came home with:

So far I've used the Pumpkin Pie 3in1 and it smells oh so good (exactly like pie!) along with the body scrub which feels quite invigorating.I keep that scent in the bathroom all year long because it's perfect to use when I feel under the weather.
I'm holding off on using the Cherry Christmas gel until it gets closer to the holidays but it smells like a mix of cherries and snow (I don't know how!). I'm also waiting to use the Living Grace perfume but I like it a lot...it's light like Pure Grace.

I'm not sure when everything will be available but you can probably find these items at the following:
~Macy's Beauty Impulse
~macys.com
~philosophy.com
~qvc.com
~Sephora
~sephora.com
~Ulta
~ulta.com

I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to the rest of the holiday fragrances to come out!

As always, thank you for supporting my blog and me :)

Bag of The Month: November

This month I am happily carrying the Dooney and Bourke Harrison Hobo in purple, which was the TSV back in September.

I have a decent amount of bags but this one looks very different between the color and shape. It's comfortable to carry around and is perfect for fall.

If you're interested in ordering one of these bags, you can do so HERE.

Happy Thursday everyone!!! :)

I'm Dreaming Of...

As mentioned in an earlier post, I ordered Philosophy's I'm Dreaming Of set during their TSV day and had actually looked into this the day prior but it wasn't until I heard "We now only have about 200 sets left" when I finally made my move. Shortly after, it had completely sold out...not much of a surprise as it was a really great deal, only $20 with free shipping and handling. Just like last year, it only lasted one presentation.

The set includes:
-8oz White Cranberry 3in1
-8oz White Peach 3in1

Seeing as I absolutely love the Fresh Peaches and Cream scent, I didn't doubt that I would enjoy this as well. Both smell like light perfumes with "clean" notes, perfect for Pure Grace lovers. The White Peach has more of a sweet scent while the White Cranberry has more of a tartness to it. At first I wasn't sure how well these would be for the fall and winter seasons, but in actuality, they're quite fitting.

The bottles themselves are really pretty with the peach and pink shimmery gels. If this isn't the perfect girly-girl gift, I don't know what is.

Right now it's listed as "Waitlist Only" but if you're interested and want to check it out, you can find it HERE.

Thank you for reading my blog and have a great week :)

Carters Haul

It's that time of year again...the air is cooler, leaves are falling from the trees, and children everywhere are having growth spurts-my soon-to-be 3 year old son included. As usual, he's between sizes so to be on the safe side I bought him everything in 3T and figured even if i is a little big he'll grow into it.

I love Carters and usually if left alone, I can come out in about five minutes with a dozen or so bags all for under $50. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this past trip. This was my first time in the toddler section and if you were there and happened to notice a person walking around like a lost puppy, well, that was me. I'm used to footie PJ's, outfits, and onesies....oh no, not in the big boy section where it's only separates and {eekkkkk} higher prices.

Still, I didn't do too bad- I was in there for a little over a half hour and walked out with jeans, long sleeve shirts, and pjs...all for under $115. It's more than what I had planned on spending but the poor kid looked like a pauper in his ill-fitting pants.

After this experience, I think next time I may just bring a map.

As always, I thank you for reading this.
P.S. It's so nice to be back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just Checking In...

What a week. We continually lost power throughout Monday and by 6:30 that night it was out completely. Without heat, we were forced to spend the next three days by my in laws, who were kind enough to take us in. My sister had a tree fall on her house but was allowed back in the following night. I have an aunt, uncle, and cousin who were in the dark for several days and then 7 hours after it had been restored they lost it again...they still don't have power. My other aunt, uncle, and cousin down in Point Pleasant just got their power back and are doing well. I'm particularly proud of my 17 year old cousin who got a group together to volunteer. All in all we lucked out.                                        The images I've seen are absolutely heartbreaking, especially the boardwalk in Seaside. I'm a Jersey shore girl so it felt like losing a second home. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by this terrible storm. We will rebuild!                                                                                                     I'll publish on a regular basis as soon as I can get to a computer as opposed to my iPod touch. Stay Jersey strong!                                                                                                                                                 P.S. If possible, please donate or volunteer. There are a lot of families in the tri-state area who are in need. Thank you.
